When materials are added to the surface of a ramp, which material will cause the OREO to roll the furthest?

Research
Making a Ramp

Materials:
1 board
3 books (1 inch?)

Take the books and put them in a pile, then place board so it looks like a ramp and is a ramp.

This helps me understand my project more because it tells me how to build a ramp. No other website that I could find had how to build a ramp! I needed to know how to build a ramp because I did not know how to and the OREOs need to go down a ramp.
Problem
When materials are added to the surface of a ramp, which material will cause the OREO to roll the furthest?
Hypothesis
I think that the water will make the OREO go the farthest because, like tires it might pick up speed and go further.
Materials

· spray bottle with water in it
· sand
· zout soap
· ruler
· recording sheet
· 3 OREOs
· A few books that altogether equal 3 inches
· 3 pieces of cardboard

Procedure
1. Get all the materials listed.
2. Make 1 ramp using the research above.
3. Spray it with water a few times then put one OREO down the ramp.
4. Change the board, and then put zout on it.
5. Repeat step 4 only this time put sand on the board.
6 .Record your data (which OREO rolled the farthest, 2nd farthest, etc.) on
the recording sheet

7. Repeat steps 1-6 2 times
8. YOU ARE DONE!!!!!!!!!
Data Collection

Conclusions
My hypothesis was right because every time I did it, the OREO that was rolled down the ramp with water went the farthest. The second farthest was always the Zout. I didn’t expect that because it was sticky (I had sticky hands after the experiment!). The last one was always the sand, which I kind of expected because at first the sand OREO would not even go off the ramp! I realized that you needed to change the OREO every once in a while so that it would go down the ramp. Something I needed to put in my procedure was that you had to find a clear space to do the experiment because the OREOs kept hitting objects. Also, I had to tape the board to the books once. I forgot to put the part where you repeat 2 times in the procedure. Overall, I learned that if you want something to slide down a ramp, use water.
